125-Year Anniversary Celebration
Northwestern launched its 125th anniversary year with a special celebration during Homecoming on Oct. 6, 2007.
An all-school reunion was held in the newly renovated Rowenhorst Student Center. Historical photos hanging throughout the building greeted alumni and friends of the college, who had their choice of food sold by eight Orange City merchants. A nostalgia-filled program in the Bultman Center featured a combined A cappella and alumni choir, appearance by former President Friedhelm Radandt, theatrical tribute to Northwestern, and film about the history of the college. Following the program, the Des Moines Big Band provided music for an anniversary dance.
The day also included traditional Homecoming events like the Raider 5K Run/Walk, Morning on the Green kids’ carnival, class reunions and football game.
